The Charta di Cambio is the official passport that accompanies the traveler and certifies that they are completing the Templar Trail.
It is extremely important to carry it with you because it allows access to wayfarer accommodations, that is, all those accommodations and restaurants that offer discounted rates to travelers.

At each stage, the Charta di Cambio is stamped with the appropriate stamps, certifying the journey undertaken. At the end of the experience, the stamps allow the issuing of the final parchment certifying the completion of the journey.

It is important to remember to have the Charta di Cambio stamped every day. It will also be a precious memento to cherish, recalling the experience of the Trail.

A bit of history...

The term Charta di Cambio has its roots in the Middle Ages, and it was the Order of the Templars that developed one of the first European banking systems.
The traveler, or pilgrim, could hand over their money to a Templar commandery before departure and receive in exchange a Charta or Letter of Exchange, a written document certifying the deposited sum.

Once they reached their destination, the traveler could redeem that sum at another Templar headquarters, thus avoiding the dangers of carrying money on long journeys.

In this spirit of protection, trust, and brotherhood, today the Charta di Cambio del Camino ideally recalls that ancient tradition of support for the traveler.

Where and how to obtain it

To receive the Charta di Cambio, please fill out the form below, which is also intended to help you get to know us.
The easiest and least expensive way to obtain it is to request it directly at the beginning of the first stage of the Camino, at the IAT Tourist Office in Gubbio, or at the Ostello del Parco in Costacciaro at the end of the first stage (it is advisable to notify us via WhatsApp at +39 353 424 9095).

The Contribution

A contribution of €5 is required for each Charta di Cambio, which will be used for the management, cleaning, and maintenance of the Templars' Path.

Templar Scriptum

The Templar Scriptum is our certificate, a diploma certifying that you have walked the ancient footsteps of the Templars of Monte Cucco.
To receive it, show the stamped Charta di Cambio at the offices where it is collected (IAT and the Costacciaro and Pascelupo hostels), or send us a WhatsApp message at +39 353 424 9095 or email camminodeitemplari@tramontanaguide.com with a photo of the Charta di Cambio.

The Templar Scriptum is FREE; there is only a €3 contribution for shipping.

ATTENTION

- To receive the Charta di Cambio for two or more people (including groups), simply submit a single form, indicating the names of the other participants in the "Travelers who will walk with me" field.
- If you request shipping, you will receive the Charta di Cambio by mail, with a one-time shipping fee of €3 for all Charta di Cambio requested to the same address (a single shipment).
